Your child’s IEP, as a PDF · up to 62.9 MB each

Your child’s document is read inside your own browser and never uploaded. There is no server to upload it to, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.

This is information about what the regulations say, not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for someone who knows your child. Special education law also varies by state. Your state parent center is free, federally funded, and will go through any of this with you.

What this checks, and what it cannot

This reads the text of your child’s IEP and reports two things: which of the sections federal law requires it can find, and which phrases in it are known to make a promise unenforceable. Both are questions about the document.

It cannot tell you whether the plan is right for your child. That question needs someone who knows your child, and any tool that claimed otherwise would send families into meetings with false confidence. Use this to arrive with better questions, then take those questions to your state parent center, who will look at it with you for free.

Why the document never leaves your device

An IEP contains your child’s name, date of birth, diagnoses, test scores and behaviour records. It is one of the most sensitive documents a family holds. This page reads it with a PDF engine running inside your own browser — there is no upload, no server, and nothing kept once you close the tab. You can disconnect from the internet before you drop the file in and the check still runs.

If your IEP is a scan

Many districts hand out photocopies, and a scanned page contains no text for any tool to read. Run it through a free browser-based scan-to-text converter first, then paste the result here.
